The Queen of Heaven Library is open to all Q of H students, faculty, and staff. The Library boasts over 9,000 titles and subscribes to 12 periodicals.

Essential Understandings & Essential Questions (Quarter 1)
Essential understandings are the topics we focus on during the quarter. The essential questions are created by each class to help us explore the topics we are working on. These are questions we will ask ourselves each class period, throughout all the books we read and projects we do. The EQs are posted in the library.
1st Grade: clothing (EU); How and why do we use clothing? (EQ)
2nd Grade: fairy tales (EU); How are fairy tales like real life? (EQ)
3rd Grade: Europe - literary genres, stories, storytelling (EU); How do the stories we read show us European cultures? (EQ)
4th Grade: Asia - literary genres, stories, storytelling (EU); How do the stories we read show us Asian cultures? (EQ)
5th Grade: Africa - literary genres, stories, storytelling (EU); How do the stories we read show is African cultures? (EQ)

Check-Out Policies
1st grade through 8th grade students may check out 2 books at a time. The check out period for all students is one week. Books may be renewed up to 2 times.
Kindergarten students check out 1 book for a one week period. Pre-K will check out books as a class that will stay in the classroom and be read together as a class.
Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Library books are due on the students' scheduled library day. If a student does not return all of their library books or renew them (the book must be present to be renewed), the student will not be allowed to check out. After 2 scheduled library days in a row of not returning or renewing library books, a letter will be sent home. If the book(s) is not returned the 3rd scheduled class period, a phone call will be made. Please keep in mind, not returning or renewing books impacts students' grades.
Middle school students may check out books from the library during the school day (keeping mindful of not disrupting classes that may be going on in the library) and after school until 3:30 pm. Once school ID cards are received, middle school must have their card in order to check out. NO exceptions.The check out period is one week. Books may be renewed up to 2 times. Students must bring in the books to renew them. All books must be returned before new books may be checked out. Once a book becomes 2 weeks late, a note will be sent to the homeroom teacher. If the book is not returned within a week, a phone call will be made.
If books are lost or damaged, families will be asked to pay a replacement cost. A student will not be allowed to check out until the payment is made.
